I’m Stubbornly Young to remain engaged in the world and relevant to the younger people in my lives. Along that journey, I try not to act old.
I’ve noticed, and I bet you have too, that some people as they get older, increasingly talk about medical stuff by default, the way farmers talk about the weather. A tiny spark of a medical topic is mentioned, and BOOM!… the conversation moves to medicines and maladies (there’s no “moscopies” – it just worked in the title).
Clearly the older we get, the more stuff breaks, sags, leaks, and worse. There’s a natural desire to talk about it… and the more we do the older we act. Of course we should, if we wish, discuss health matters of serious concern with those closest to us. Other than those, let’s be thoughtful about how much we talk about mundane medical stuff. There are any number of other high-energy, vibrant topics to talk about. Let’s do that!
