About

Dave

BLOGGER, PODCAST HOST, EXECUTIVE, ENTREPRENEUR, SPEAKER, AND FORMER PROFESSIONAL MASCOT.

In the 1920’s my great grandparents came from Europe as tailors, built a business, and created a future for his family. They provided me with an onramp and I’ll always be grateful.

I’ve been a paperboy, made fries at McDonalds, been in sales, mortgaged my house to make payroll while building a business, and am now a chamber of commerce executive. Along the way, somewhere in the middle, I was mascot for the Denver Broncos (see me via link below). I’m a father of two adult sons and a committed husband, struggling to be worthy of my wife. My greatest weakness is that I find managing details annoying. My proudest and the attribute that makes me happiest is curiosity – for me, that’s probably the greatest driver of staying Stubbornly Young. Origin of Stubbornly Young

At some point in my career/life, starting in my 50’s, I began to worry (fear) that people would begin seeing me as too old to be wanted in their professional lives, and that maybe I’d even be perceived as too old to have truly meaningful relevance in the lives of my adult children.

I don’t feel that way at all. I admit: I don’t want to work the grinding 60-80 hour work weeks that I used to – besides, I can get a lot more done now in less time.  I remain attracted to new technology (except TikTok) and embrace change in the world.

So, here I am. 60’s, still making a living, still engaged in the world, still striving to be interesting, relevant, valuable. I decided to share my fear with others. Every time I did, people related.  They leaned in, they got excited, said things like, “THAT’S RIGHT!  I feel that way too!”  I concluded:

THERE ARE LOTS OF US.

We are the “STUBBORNLY YOUNG.” Let’s hang out together.
